This was the first private-public-partnership (PPP) model medical college of West Bengal. It was founded by Dr. Kumud Shankar Ray (in short Dr. K. S. Ray). This college is a state-of-the-art health care facility and educational institution established recently to serve the city of Kolkata and a larger community of West Bengal. 3. Calcutta National Medical College
Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata
This royal college of Physicians and Surgeons was established in June 1948 by amalgamation of National Medical Institute at 32 Gorachand Road and Calcutta Medical Institute at Upper Circular Road. Then in 1964, this college totally moved to Gorachand Road and was taken over by the government in the year 1967. Then on 5th March, 1976 the institute was nationalized. Now it imparts one of the finest quality education with excellent teaching faculties with it who always strive to provide their best to their students and bring the best doctors out of them.

The Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research is colloquially known as P G Hospital (Presidency General Hospital) or SSKM Hospital (Seth Sukhilal Kernani Medical Hospital). It is a tertiary referral government hospital of West Bengal and India, and is also a national research institute. This hospital was the first Post Graduate Medical Institute in Eastern India in 1957. The Undergraduate training started here in the late 2004. 5. Nilratan Sircar Hospital Kolkata
Nilratan Sarkar Medical College, Kolkata
This medical teaching institute was converted to Sealdah Medical School from Sealdah Municipal Hospital in the year 1873. And then in the year 1884 the name Campbell Medical School was given to it which got upgraded to Campbell Medical College in the year 1948. And in the year 1950, it was named after the great freedom fighter and alumni of this institute, Nilratan Sircar. Since its establishment, it has maintained its quality of teaching.
