Exam Profile of NID DAT 2018
NID DAT 2018 exam will be organized to test the candidate who wish to study in designing courses in both, the bachelors and masters level in National Institute of Design. Interested candidate who want to secure admission in design programmes offered at National Institute of Design (NID) aspirants need to take part in NID DAT (Prelims) and NID DAT (Mains).
Only candidates who are shortlisted in NID DAT (Prelims) can appear for NID DAT (Mains) admission round.
NID DAT (Prelims) Exam is a written design aptitude test conducted by NID whereas NID DAT (Mains) comprises of a Studio Test and Interview round.
NID Institute offers Bachelor of Design (BDes) course at NID Ahmedabad as well as Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) course at NID Vijayawada and NID Kurukshetra. The GDPD course is of four year duration.
Total number of seats on offer in BDes programmes at NID is 100 whereas MDes seats for admissions are 275 in number.

Eligibility criteria for NID DAT 2018 –
Eligibility criteria for B. Des Candidate-
Higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examination from any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, etc.) from any recognised board such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or their equivalent in the year 2017-2018 can apply for the exam.
- Senior secondary school examination under the National Institute of Open Schooling, with a minimum of five subjects.
- AICTE approved three-year Full time Diploma after Class X offered by Board of Technical Education of any state in India or Union Territories as mentioned on http://www.aicte-india.org/statisticbote.php
NID DAT Entrance Exam 2018 Age Limit-
Indian Nationals in General Category-Upper age limit for candidates is 20 years as on 30 June 2018.
Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (OBC-NCL, SC, ST)-Upper age limit for candidates is 23 years as on 30 June 2018.
Indian Nationals in PwD Reserved Category– Upper age limit for candidates is 25 years as on 30 June 2018.
How to Prepare NID DAT Entrance Exam 2018-
Any one who want to become a part of design school the good sketching is essential, the questions in examination are framed to judge a candidates creativity, imagination & visualization skills/ observation / general awareness etc. So, developing these skills are equally important.
The Speed is key stone of your success in this examination . The one basic thing in mind , that your drawing & creative skills are useless if you are not able to present your thoughts in the exam in the limited amount of time.
according to success candidate go through all previous year papers of NID.Solve at least 8 – 10 past papers and few mock test paper within the time limit. Find out a comfortable sequence of answering the paper. If you are faced with a anxiety , mental block , breathe deeply, relax and then try to answer the question.Don’t practice in A3 size sketch books. Work in A4 size as that is normally the standard size of answer sheets in the examination.
