English was little tough for students appearing for Generalist Category but students appearing for specialist officer category were happy with questions.

The OICL (Oriental Insurance Company Limited) Exam 2017 was conducted to recruit candidates for various administrative and clerical positions. The exam pattern comprised sections like Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, and General Awareness, with a total duration of 2 hours. According to aspirants, the Reasoning section was moderately difficult, with puzzles and seating arrangement questions taking more time than expected. The Quantitative Aptitude section was challenging for many, particularly questions on simplification, data interpretation, and time-speed-distance, requiring strong problem-solving skills and accuracy.
The English Language section was reported to be of moderate difficulty, with comprehension and grammar-based questions being the most time-consuming. Meanwhile, the General Awareness section included insurance-related questions, current affairs, and static GK, which tested both the aspirants’ preparation and awareness of recent events. Overall, candidates found the exam to be moderately tough, with reasoning and quantitative aptitude being the deciding factors for a good score. Time management and accuracy were crucial for clearing the sectional cut-offs in this exam.
