Nakoda Ltd was initiated as a private company in the year of 1984 with the name of Nakoda Private Limited (Nakoda Plt). It had become a public limited company by Sec. 43A of Companies Act 1956, which was happened on 17 August 1989 The Nakoda Plt was converted into public company on 16 Sep 1991 and its share’s were released. The name of the Company was changed to Nakoda Limited( Nakoda Ltd) on 20 Feb 2010.
Initially Nakoda was trading with the textile for a year from its initializing and later they establish their own texturing plant in Silvassa in the Dadra & Nagar (Union Territory), Haveli in Feb 1986.
It was engaged in processing of both Polyester Yarn like texturising and twisting. Its licensed capacity and installed capacity of
- texturising – 708 MTPA and
- twisting – 525 MTPA.
Later the texturising capacity was then expanded upto 2,658 MTPA by adding new texturising machines very shortly. The expansion plant was setup at village Karanj in Surat this was a mile stone and cause for the improvement of the company.
In 2010 the spinning capacity is extended from 50,000 MTPA to 1,00,000 MTPA.
It has elastified its core business by implementing a Continuous Polymerisation (CP) Plant as integration with total capacity of 1,40,000 – MTPA.
Extending beyond the core the Nakoda has identified Renewable energy as an exciting sector and start to invest in Wind Mill Power projects in Tamil Nadu (6.75 MW) and MP (5.25MW).
