The Inspiring Journey of Akshat Verma: From IIT to IAS
Introduction
Akshat Verma, an IAS cadre officer, in the batch of 2017, originally hails from Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Inspiration for the ones who dream of and want to become IAS officers.
Determined and hardworking, his journey is the epitome of hard work and continuous strife for the fulfillment of what he wanted to pose for. He has recently been named the Municipal Commissioner of Varanasi where Akshat has shown the sheer magic of hard work and focus in attaining his goals.
Early Life and Education
Dr. Ayodhya, with the father practicing at the district hospital, bore a small but brilliant son – Akshat. He did his early schooling from the Army Public School, Ayodhya where he was recognized as a student very dear to teachers for his bright performances. After completing schooling, Akshat went through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) to get admission to the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (then University of Roorkee) from where he earned his B.Tech.
Dreaming Civil Services
However, destiny had something else planned for him, something so big and yet, to be scaled. A few moments before the clock hit 2018, he proudly thought and hoped of the next turning point trigger needed for the forthcoming career in Civil Service. His father signaled an approach to the door of officers clad in blue.
The IRS Primary Achievement
First Attempt and IRS Success
In 2015, Akashat appeared for the first time in the UPSC exam and secured the 667th rank. He was selected by the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) where he served as an Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax. However, his journey to success had not finished yet as Akshat was quite determined to bag his dream of becoming an IAS officer.
The Second Attempt and Success in the IAS
A refusal to let go of this opportunity provided for him by his dream enabled Akshat to join his IRS duty while he continued with his preparation. In 2016, Akashat took the UPSC exam for the second time and raised his rank, finally becoming at eleventh spot in the most respectable service of IAS. He was selected for the year 2017 and began his career in April 2018 as an IAS officer. Shahjahanpur was his first appointment, where he served as an Assistant Magistrate.
Current Status and Future Plan
Akshat Verma is serving as the Municipal Commissioner of Varanasi today, a role that has truly inspired thousands of UPSC aspirants. Like many successful Indians and other successful stories, the tale of this man speaks about the vast power of dedication, hard work, and perseverance in which with determination, nothing is impossible to get.
