BIOGRAPHY

Sanjita Mohapatra who is 30 year old, cracked her UPSC CSE 2019 and scored an AIR of 10 in her fifth attempt.She gave three attempts during her college time in which she could not clear prelims.In fourth attempt she cleared her mains. She lives in Rourkela, Odisha. She was brought up in Rourkela and that is where she did her schooling. Her father is a small time business man and her mother is a housewife. She has an elder sister who also does a job at BHEL in Bengaluru. She had dream of becoming an IAS since childhood and she slowly became more aspired towards it. She studied mechanical ennginnering and graduated in 2012. Then she did a job at Rourkela Steel Plant for 5 years and she resigned in 2018. Then she gave Odisha Public Service Commision Exam and she got a rank 2 in it.

STRATEGY FOR PREPARATION OF UPSC CSE

Then in 2019, Sanjita gave UPSC CSE and secured a rank 10 with her hardwork and determination. She started her preparations very early and also, she did not take any coaching. All of her were done by self study. She took Sociology as her optional for which she did a three month crash course. She did preparations for her general studies and essay by herself. She had a habit of reading newspapers regularly since college. After her college, during her job, she started preparing for UPSC CSE along with it. She used to study basic syllabus from NCERT and she also did not have any guidance or any peer group due to which she faced a lot of problem. During her preparations, Sanjita took a lot of help from internet and did a lot of research.

In UPSC CSE 2019 Plutus IAS has Given Maximum Selection the IAS Exam. Out of 80 students, 43 have cracked the IAS Exam.

TIPS AND POINTS OF SANJITA MOHAPATRA

At first she was very confused what books to study, from where to study etc. as there is a vast syllabus. But she concised her sources and narrowed it down and came to know from where to gather the correct syllabus. Later on she faced troubles in managing her job along with her studies for UPSC CSE, so she resigned from her job as her only dream was to become an IAS. She never decided the number of hours she need to study, but focused on completing her set target. She is married, so she could not study continuously for hours but she kept in mind that she needs to study a particular subject, solve test series etc. She gave a lot of importance to her optional and took special time for it. She says that it is important to choose optional subject at which you are good.

MISTAKES AND FAILURE

She did not give her first three attempts seriously as during college life you do not know the actual importance of UPSC CSE and she did not know from where to study the syllabus as it is quite vast. She did a lot of hard work and everything she failed she used to realise her mistakes and work more hard the next time and put her all efforts in cracking the UPSC CSE In Delhi, she realised the importance and then she also came to know the sources to get syllabus and how to narrow it down. In her fourth attempt also, Sanjita made some mistakes and could not crack her UPSC CSE. She also said that did not revise well during those attempts. During her final attempts she started making notes from NCERT’s and short key points. She also used limited sources for her current affairs and always used newspapers for it. But she could not revise those notes well. She also gave alot importance to essays and used to practice immediately after her prelims.

SUCCESS AT HER FINAL ATTEMPT

She was finally successful at her fifth attempt after learning from all her mistakes and secured a rank 10 in her UPSC CSE. She and her friends and family are very proud of her success and are happy for her. Now she will work for the development and betterment of the country and its people and make the whole nation proud of her. She will now has to face the real challenges of what an IAS officer has to face and possess the qualities of a true and honest IAS officer.
