Hello Friends !

On 16th December, 2016 UP Jal Nigam successfully conducted exam for the post of Assistant Engineer in various engineering branches. Lakhs of engineering aspirants appeared in the exam. The exam was conducted in branches like Mechanical, Electrical and Civil engineering.

According to the students of a reputed coaching of Delhi/NCR the level of exam was comparatively easier than the previous year. Given below is the exam pattern of the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam Assistant Engineer Exam Analysis 2016

 

Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam Assistant Engineer Exam Pattern-

There were Eighty (80) questions to be answered worth Eighty (80) marks. The total time allotted was two (2) hours for the written exam. The exam included three sections –

Reasoning and Arithmetic ability, General awareness and technical aptitude. Given below is the exam pattern of the written exam in tabular form-

Exam Analysis and Difficulty Level-

General Awareness analysis-

In this section the questions were asked from almost all the areas. Focus was laid on Static General knowledge. Some of the topics are- Awards, places, important dates, sports, temples, national parks and wildlife sanctuaries, important books and authors.

Current Affairs were also asked  from the past six months. The section carried 15 questions worth 15 marks. The difficulty level of the section was above average.

 

 

Reasoning and arithmetic ability analysis-

This section comprised of 15 questions as well and these questions were worth 15 marks. Various Questions were asked from topics like series, analogy, coding decoding, numerical aptitude, approximations, percentages, permutation and combination, factors and multiples etc.

The difficulty level was moderate and questions were attempt able in the given stipulated period of time.

 

Technical aptitude analysis-

This section played the role of Decisive section in the exam. The section carried 50 questions worth 50 marks . The Questions were asked from all the areas of engineering. There were mixed questions from branches of Civil engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

The Difficulty Level of this section was above average and both conceptual and numerical questions were asked.

There was no negative marking in the exam and the expected cut off if about 70-72.
