Does Aviation Require Better Engineer or Management ?

Both the fields offers a good scope and requires highly qualified engineers. If we take a look in “Aviation Engineering we will see that all work carried out in this field must be certified by an appropriately licensed engineer”. On the other hand inManagement engineering skilled engineers who understand the essential principles of business and law are required.”

And,since every field has it own importance engineers required in both field should be competent enough to meet challenges.

What is Aviation?

The term Aviation is derived from avis, the Latin word for “bird”.It primarily deals with design, development, production, operation, and use of aircraft.

Aviation engineering

Aviation  deal with plan design and innovation, including the use of military aircraft other than blimps and balloons.Aviation engineering is the use of science and mathematics for all kinds of purposes in the area of flight, such as through engineering and maintaining planes. It is a broad career path with many jobs and opportunities.

Management Engineering

Graduated students in this field apply their complex knowledge of management and engineering to understand, design, implement and manage complex management systems upon which organizations depend.

Management Engineering program has five components:

  • A Foundation in Management, Engineering, Science and Mathematics
  • Specialized courses in three theme areas:
    • Operations Research and Supply Chain Management
    • Information Technologies
    • Management of Technology
  • Technical Breadth in a Traditional Engineering Discipline
  • A Capstone Design Project
  • A series of Professional Development courses .

Why Study Engineering Management?

In the complex, competitive world of technology driven industry, skilled engineers who understand the essential principles of business and law have a tremendous competitive advantage. MEM programs are meeting the demand for such professionals and are distinctive among engineering programs in their integration of business, law and engineering.

Aviation is vital both in Engineering and management sector. The fields which are mentioned here are very vital in practical world. So, I believe it is necessary. Hope others can also get the results by reading the article whether is it good or not………..

  3. Saswat Nayak says:

i think aviation needs more engineers to make it technically developed.

  4. ARPIT TARAN says:

Both management and aviation field has equal importance but as i think aviation requires more skilled engineers so that this would be good for safety purpose and in aviation field lots of technology has come & to control a heavy functionality machine it requires a skilled professional persons. Studying aviation would be good then management if you have interest in it, their you would also be able to learn and manage things.

  5. Kriti Das says:

Aviation is one of those fields having immense possibilities and scope.I feel we have a dearth of true potential in this field of engineering as it demands a very dedicated and thoughtful approach. But then, the even the small potential that we have at hand needs proper management. So proper management holds the key.Aviation industry itself is very uncertain and fragile. So it needs to be managed in a way so as the minimize the risk associated which will encourage more and more people to look at aviation and associated things as proper and profitable career option. At the end of the day, none of us want to have..too many ‘Vijay Malay’ over here.Kingfisher airlines is the most proper example of what can happen in lack of proper management. Importance of Technical issues cannot be undermined as well.
So,i guess full proof technology with proper management plans hold the key here.

  6. Debanki Mukherjee says:

Technology comes first is quite true but technology is of no use if its not used in business strategy. When business comes into account the word MARKETING cannot be avoided. This article is quite helpful to understand the relation between engineering and management.

  7. Er Ketan Joshi says:

From my point of view engineers and management students had their own importance in every field but if we are talking about aviation think then i guess both stream students plays an vital role because if talk about designing, usage in air space, element which is used in aviation so we definitely called an expert engineer who is an expertise in aviation. But if we want an person who can manage all that think such as marketing, sales and another think so we were definitely call an management student so both the field is useful in aviation whether it is management or engineering. But the person should be expert in aviation.
    Because people respect expertise

  8. aratrika sengupta says:

We definitely know that too many hands spoil the broth but at the same time united we stand and divided we fall. So , in this case Engineering and Management actually go hand by hand because if not properly managed, engineering wouldn’t get its base and if strategic engineering technique is not being implemented, then management would find itself at stake. Thus,it would be wrong to actually give either as a higher stature but definitely considering aviation and its technicalities involved, I would always take the side of proper engineering first.
Was really a good article to read.

  9. Priyanka Baidya says:

I also think aviation require better engineer as well as Management.
Without an engineer the management will not be able to face the technical part.
And without management the publicity of the product can not be done
    So both are important

  10. Piyali Chattaraj says:

I think aviation needs better engineers than management. If it has some technical faults then it is of no use though its marketing was very well. But marketing is also important. To make a product publicly known marketing is very important. If people doesn’t know about the product it will result loss for that company.

  11. Jishnu Sen says:

First comes technology and then comes marketing. Without a product the management will have nothing to market. So it is not all a complicated decision that the aviation and all other technical industry should have better engineers than compared to marketers. A person with good communication skills can groom himself/herself and can become a successful marketer but on the other hand a person need to be well accustomed with the technology to deal with the several demands for the consumers. If a feature is not there then it is not possible for a marketer to market a certain thing which is not there.

    • Sayanti Banerjee says:

well u stated it correct that ” First comes technology and then comes marketing” but saying that any person with good communication skills can market a product well will not be true.If only grooming and communication skills would have made a person a good marketer(in ur words) than why to study management skills and wasting 2 years .I feel it is very important to take care of both the issues in the field of aviation.Skilled engineers with good marketing brain is definitely a brilliant combination.

  12. akanksha chaturvedi says:

i think aviation needs both for safety of our countrymen
