WHAT IS CLAT?

CLAT EXAM &  ELIGIBILITY

CLAT EXAM AND ELIGIBILITY- CLAT or Common Law Admission Test  is a standardized,central  entrance exam for national law universities in India.Apart from national law universities the scores are also used by 43 other educational bodies along with 2 public sector institutes are also permitted to accept this score for admission.   This entrance test is held on rotation by 18 national law universities for their undergraduate and postgraduate programs.  The CLAT committee is the body responsible for organizing this exam  though it started with National Law School of India University.

ELIGIBILITY FOR CLAT

This test is taken after 12th grade to seek admission for undergraduate program in law and after graduation in law for Masters of Law programme. The programs under CLAT for which students seek admission are-  BA LLB (Hons), BSc LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BSW LLB (Hons), BCom LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes . CLAT 2018 is scheduled to be conducted on May 13, 2018  and the online application process would commence from on January 1, 2018 onward.  

For Undergraduate programs–   One must have passed 10+2 with minimum of 45 % for OBC, unreserved categories, whereas 40 %  for SC,ST  category..Though there is no upper age limit but as of now it has been limited to 20years of age.

For Postgraduate programs – One must possess LLB degree  with at least 55%  for unreserved,OBC whereas  50% for SC,ST category.  

Along with this students appearing for qualifying exam in march april 2018 are also eligible to sit for this exam by producing proofs of the exam.

EXAM FEES FOR CLAT

PROCESS FOR CLAT TEST

Let us guide you  about the process for CLAT test–

1)First you need to fill up the CLAT application form online only and pay the application fees.

2)Then download the admit card through your login account and carry the printout to the test center.

3)Sit for the CLAT online  examination .

4)Check CLAT result after the exam on the official website. This will consist of merit list with the student’s name .

SUBJECTS FOR CLAT TEST

This is a 2 hr long entrance test that tests knowledge on Numerical ability, English with comprehensions, General Knowledge ,Current Affairs,  Legal Aptitude, Legal Awareness and Logical Reasoning.
