UES stands for University Entry Scheme, an interview conducted by Indian Army. It is open for candidates from engineering background of third year. It is nothing but a pre SSB interview conducted before SSB interview. The interview is taken by two officers one by one. This is a friendly interview, not meant to pressurize the candidate, but to know the basics about the candidate and mainly test whether the candidate is fit for Army and is having a good communication skill or not.

Some Interview Tips

• It’s a simple interview, so no need to worry much and become nervous.
• Stay calm, cool and confident.
• Take an entry in the interview room with your head held high.
• Don’t forget to greet the interviewer.
• Never lie. Answer truly whatever is asked.
• If you don’t know an answer, think for a while if you can and if not then politely reply “Sir, I am sorry, I don’t know the answer”.
• If by chance you didn’t hear the question properly, then politely ask to repeat the question again.
• Answer only those questions in which you are confident enough. Never give rubbish answers.
• Brush up some recent events of outside and inside the country.

Interview Questions generally asked in UES interview

1.     Tell me something about yourself.

• Just a brief introduction about yourself and your parents.
• Mention some of the positive points of yours

2.     Who is your best friend and why is he your best friend?

• Think properly whom will you designate as your best friend
• Give a valid reason of him being your best friend

3.     Give me an instance where he was helpful.

• Mention a proper instance

4.     Whom do you approach in family when you face any problem?

5.     Tell me something about your home town.

• Try to mention the positive points about your home town

6.     Why do you want to join the force?

• Give a valid reason like “I want to do something for my country”, “I want to give my best for the protection of my Country”, etc.
• Don’t speak rubbish

7.     What if you get recommended?

9.     Who was the first field marshal in Indian Army?

10.   Which planet has maximum number of moons / satellite?
Ans.     Jupiter
