Students in India strive to get admission in professional courses that will enhance their future prospects. MBBS is a course that is opted many students in the country, so getting a seat is tough. Earlier the private MBBS college management was fully responsible for the admission that led to high capitation fees or donation that caused a huge financial burden on the students who could not get government seat. In 2016, the Government of India introduces the NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) examination that will act as the primary criteria needed to get admission. From 2016, the private colleges can admit students for the NRI quota through the NEET exam results. Students need to get 145 marks (general category) and 118 (reserved category) to secure seats in the private institutions.

Fees Structure

Following the implementation of NEET, the private college management increased the MBBs fees from 8 lakhs to an exuberant amount of 15 lakhs per annum. So, the revised fees for studying MBBS is;

Yearly- 12-15 lakhs (total amount 70 lakhs)

So the students who have acquired a seat in the merit quota need to spend around 65-70 lakhs in total to secure their MBBS degree. Though 50,000 MBBS seats are available in several colleges across the country, the high amount of fees is stopping many students to opt for a private MBBS seat in India.
