Rat Race to MBA is a Race to Big Money

There are different kinds of wealth building strategies in order to avoid waste of time and mistakes for those out there who are planning to build their wealth. In fact, to get rich is easy for those who know the wealth making strategies to achieve financial success. Today lots of students are moving towards the field of management to get handsome salary. Based on survey and studies globally, most professionals that have MBA diploma earned double than their previous income. For example, most of the CEO of the fortune 500 companies earned MBA diploma and get richer faster than technical people do with engineering background. Thus there is a race among the students for MBA to make big money. This might be a shortcut for them to be richer and it’s not bad idea as every individual in this era wants to get name and fame by hook or by crook. People being indulged with the technical background or being fresher in terms of graduation whether at engineering or medical stream do not get advantage of having high salary because of the null year experience.

After graduation there are a lot of options before candidates to seek a job or to continue with their higher studies. After B. tech a student must opt for M. Tech as it belongs to their stream but they don’t as there is a feeling that they would either have to gain experience or have to become a faculty in future. Now the question arises that how would they sustain in the environment where they have to deal with the knowledge of finance, management and organizational behavior? The answer is quite simple- they can just for making a BIG MONEY.

MBA not only provide handsome salary but makes you start to operate your own business. The majority of the billionaires and millionaires have their own business, yeah not only one but also more. Right after you graduate with an MBA degree from a big-name college, it would have a lot of value. Recruiters would likely give it a lot of weightage while evaluating you. Indeed, the developing world is proving a melting pot for growing collaboration between the private, voluntary and public sectors. Thus today a rat race to MBA is not meant for educational purpose but to enhance their money making.

Sometimes money forces a person to choose a line in education which does not matches his/her knowledge.Rat race to MBA for money is just like playing with carrier.Everyone must choose a line which helps him/her to obtain the knowledge practically and not theoretically .Making big money should not be the aim of a person .

  2. Aashu Bhargava says:

yes i agree that the RAT RACE TO MBA IS A RACE TO BIG MONEY, because every student today wants a good salary package to fulfill his worldly desires like a big car, own house, large bank balance. & MBA provides all the skills to get all this & to achieve a good position in the society. but, if any wants to pursue MBA should do it from a reputed institutes who provides quality education & good placement opurtunities to its students.

  4. Aakash Raghav says:

MBA, surly a better option for post graduation.
and this can be easily seen in figure, with the number of students opting for it..
in case of B.tech students, i would like to conclude that in today’s growing commercial world, industries wants an individual which is a multi tasking guy…there an engineer with management skills is far better than an engineer only..

  5. Amit Gupta says:

As far as today’s era is concerned companies also need multitalented peoples , students who are doing MBA after B.Tech. fully satisfied these requirements. As they satisfied these req. ,they become favourable for the companies as they have knowledge in both the fields i.e. in technical and in management as well….. 🙂

  6. swaraj verma says:

If a person persuading MBA then we can’t say he or she is running for a big money. As everyone studies more and more to settle their future so no matter in which era he goes. If MBA is giving more money, job then he will go to it. Now it will be their ability that how much he can earn through it after studying. So no matter what other says if it is giving good opportunities then its best.i think MBA are some for CEO thinking for nice think some for big money i think CEO some cases in between for really good market for all MBA in some fields for good.

  7. Arjun Bhadauria says:

I think it is right. Because even engineer i.e. a technical person is go for MBA because they want BIG Money.

In my views at this time every students are going for MBA course n big number of pgdm holders are getting out with no jobs in the pocket .And now companies are giving preferences to the experience holder
.As The name speaks for itself “MBA – Master of Business Administration”. Firstly, doing an MBA is more of a personal choice to direct you towards a certain path, which is directly or indirectly connected to management. I agree with authors point to a certain extent that the majority of CEO’s of worlds top-notch organizations are MBA but on the other side I felt that people from technical or engineering background. Doing an MBA can never be a shortcut to success. However, this might benefit a person in a long term.

In my views at this time every students are going for MBA course. MBA gives knowledge about management, marketing and etc. B-tech. studens have alot of knowledge about their subject but they dnt knw how to sell their product, how to they manage their company etc. a company always wants those candidates who have knwledge with good communication skills and good leadership qualities. all these skills comes from MBA. if a person have all these things than every big company gives a big package to that candidates…for getting good salery or to start a new business we have to develop these qualities.. so MBA is required.at last we say that RAT RACE FOR MBA IS A RACE FOR MAKING BIG MONEY..

as it is rightly said that ” there is no shortcut to success”

  11. Prakhar Maheshwari says:

Race to MBA has become a rat race indeed.Recent trends show huge bucks of salaries for MBA people. But this doesn`t mean that all of them are able to fetch such huge bucks. We also need to emphasize that quality does matters.
In this era of sheer competition where every one is running in race to win,MBA`s are people who are actually able to bear this pressure and pave newer path.Only this is a case when such huge bucks are offered.
We find top salary offered but about other pupil is never published. Thus with dollar dreams in mind we do take admission but later on regret.
So it`s important for us to understand our potential via our life experiences and then make a decision for career.
Being a leader right from school days and then owing various position are eg. of one such experience of real life which help us in determining our potential.
Also streams need to be judiciously chosen.

  12. sushmita shrivastava says:

In every field there is a race and competition between people..everyone wants to earn money .To get in the MBA is a difficult task as there are many students competing for it. Yes it is a race of wealth because as of now the scenario says the by getting into a top B school means to earn a lot of money.
MBA as it seems is not an easy one, only the deserving candidate can get good college.
Apart from this by doing the MBA n only by the diploma some companies give promotion to there employees because there perception is a person who has done the MBA must have the marketing knowledge that can be beneficial for their company..
There is healthy competition in every field so i agree it is a rate race, but it is a wealth race also.
    Thank You.

    YOU completed your graduation ……
Whats your next step…..”JOB” no no no
You will go for higher degree, most probably M..TECH again its complete “NO”
Statistics show nearly 60% of graduate move toward “MBA” and why not you really get a handsome salary.
Wealth is important and why not,but the question is why YOU came from a technical background all the way playing with circuits, micro processor and suddenly you are thrown in to a platform of marketing or management and also it ultimately results in to good job and salary.
A new “EQUATION” that is being followed by nearly half of studying population.
    GRADUATE+MBA = JOB+HANDSOME SALARY
But there is a problem ,a mind with technical knowledge is now managing resources, administrating peoples….
isn’t that a “WASTE”….. i think so and why not.
to be frank its …………………………………………….”RAT RACE”……………………………………………

  14. mohit gupta says:

I totally agree with the statement. In today’s world MBA has become a big boon and it has definitely become the source of making big money. Even a technical student who has completed his degree, opts for MBA. Today most of the corporates are billionaire or millionaire and that is because they did MBA from a good college.
Today everyone wants to reach the top, earn a handsome salary and most importantly everyone wants to lead a “CORPORATE LIFESTYLE”.
An MBA person can have his/her own organization set up in 1-2 year after passing through a well corporate MBA college. On the other hand a technical person struggles through all his life and he is deprived of the taste of “HANDSOME SALARY”.

MBA done after completing graduation is surely a source of “GOOD JOB” , “HANDSOME SALARY” and “WEALTHY LIFESTYLE”

  15. rohit kumar bhutiya says:

I feel that those coming from technical backgrounds should not be given a chance for management studies. why to play with one’s own career.

  16. YOGESH AGARWAL says:

yes its true. MBA not provide our technical knowledge but improve our mind in business field and in india maximum person want to create our business and want to improve our business. MBA is a rat race to big money. so MBA provide good salary in business field not in technical field.

  17. maharshi vyas says:

It is a rat race or you can say it a “BIG RAT RACE”. Previously it was for engg. now it came on this. It all depends on the scope n what the companies are asking for and for what the company is paying. MBA craze will also get over, it is good now but after some time its craze also will get lost and you will find helpless as that time you will be having MBA degre n now companies are asking for other.
Itsa good to do what you good in, rather racing with others.

quite informative…..these kind of upgradations must be made…in order to spread d awareness….The name speaks for itself “MBA – Master of Business Administration”. I am not convinced to the point that it’s only a numbers game

  21. Abhinav Gupta says:

Yup! Thats quite true in the present situation but some people are really interested in business management. This is harmful as now MBA’s are manufactured but other professions suffer. One should choose his/her domain of studies by own will and not marely for sake of money as money follow passion as in case of Mr. M.F. Husain, Steve Jobs and the list goes endless.

  22. vishnu jangid says:

it is your choice for do mba but according to me spend high money which is not possibial to every one and after complete mba you can get attaraive sailary and you start own bussnis so rat race for mba is race for big money but fees criteria should be fix.

  23. Amay Saxena says:

well i believe we are trying to only contrast to different mythologies of ,MBA being a money making qualification and pursuing m.tech is beggar like way of living.MBA doesn’t provide u with only handsome salary but it also provides with standardized way of living,it provides u with social landscape to market ,finance ,develop your innovative business idea with your entrepreneur skills.B.tech students pursue MBA indeed to earn more money but it also make me more materialistic, tactical, managerial and furious towards to fast living standards.MBA ,a way to make social relations ,to develop communications between different societies,a fast way to make money and many more and M.tech makes u technically innovative person,it entitles u to provide world with new inventions, discoveries in various fields scattering technologies without which people are almost dead..m.tech graduates working with many multinational companies like SONY. SAMSUNG.GM MOTORS..and they are also called for lectures in various places with high payments, they attribute research in various projects of human welfare with government ,so its not that u can’t earn with m.tech…if u look for mba colleges ,their faculties are mostly m.tech,m.phil etc with huge experiences..and for with they are paid glorious salaries which being a mba graduates don’t get if he/she is in small scale industries..and with knowledge and research, technology u can’t sale, market or finance a thing..

  24. Shishupal Nagar says:

Yes,It is happening now a days. But it is not for good salary it is for get good job. and do a impressive business himself.

  25. vishnu jangid says:

mba is benifit for which have money but another some people are poor and they arregement money some resource and first of all spend money for b.tech,bca,b.com etcand after that mba fees is also high so everybody can’t do mba but it is your choice for get your goal do mba
