The SAT, which was originally called the Scholastic Aptitude Test, later became the Scholastic Assessment Test. Over time, the name evolved again to SAT I: Reasoning Test, then SAT Reasoning Test, and today it is simply known as the SAT.
It is a paper-based international standardized exam designed and administered by the College Board in collaboration with the Educational Testing Service (ETS), a well-known non-profit organization. The exam helps universities assess a student’s readiness for higher education, especially in the United States.
This exam was started way back in 1926 . This is a standardized test majorly used for admissions in US universities .
The basic purpose of SAT is for students seeking admissions to institute or universities for undergraduate programs in US. This particular exam has been constituted to assess the written, verbal and mathematical knowledge of the students.
FUNCTIONS OF SAT EXAM
- This exam is particularly taken up by students of high school or students seeking admissions for undergraduate programs in US universities.
- It can measure the writing ,speaking skills required for academic purpose. It actually evaluates how the student will be able to solve or analyze a problem.
- Combination of SAT score with the high school grade points actually gives a better result
In the year 2017 around 1.71 million students of high school took the SAT exam . BAsically this exam is a way to analyze the future success in academics. It is a kind of entrance exam used majorly by colleges and universities for admissions to undergraduate level so that the colleges could find a common stand for all students selection.

WHAT IS ELIGIBILITY FOR SAT EXAM?
Considering the SAT exam format it is taken up majorly high school students that is 11th and 12th standard students hardly 17 or 18 years old . So there’s no age limit or any eligibility requirements .

WHAT IS THE FEES FOR SAT EXAM?
There are two types of registration fees for SAT exams. Registration fees with optional essays section costs around $ 60 whereas Registration fees without essay section costs around $46.
The fees for taking up SAT test in India would be around $92 without the optional Essay and $103.50 with the Essay – both including International Fee of $49.
If you want to change your SAT date or the Center, an additional $28 is charged also.
