Scholarship for Indian Students at Monash University
The International students face many unique challenges in their path of beginning their research studies, which is why the Monash University is offering a wide range of scholarships to make the research at Monash more and more accessible. Many of the international candidates will be eligible for the Monash Graduate Scholarship and other Monash scholarships, but they offer several awards specifically for them.
We have discussed in details about some of the scholarships in which Indian students are eligible to be admitted and that too for Masters’ degree.
The eligibility criteria are almost commonly required for all which says that the students can be of any country to be admitted. The candidates must have their highest education pursued full time from any recognized university. Students with percentage of 75% and above may gain special benefit. The student must not have been enrolled for equivalent course.
So the available scholarships are:
1. Monash Graduate Scholarship
This scholarship pays the living allowance for international students along with their tuition fees and Health Cover.
2. International Post Graduate Research Scholarship
This scholarship pays the tuition fees and the Overseas Student Health Cover. They don’t include an allowance for the basic living expenses but it could be awarded together with a stipend scholarship that covers such costs.
3. Monash International Postgraduate Research Scholarship
This scholarship pays the tuition fees and the Overseas Student Health Cover for the duration of the scholarship. They don’t include an allowance for the basic living expenses but it could be awarded together with a stipend scholarship that covers such costs.
4. Monash Silver Jubilee Postgraduate Research Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded through different faculties each year. And it provides a living allowance to the international students along with their tuition fees and Health Cover.
5. Sir James McNeill Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship
This scholarship pays a tuition fees to the international students who are undertaking a postgraduation in music, engineering, science or medicine. It also covers the living allowance as well as the Health Cover.
6. Victorian International Research Scholarship
This Victorian Government scholarship has provided $ 1.2 million over the four years since 2010, to fund 20 three – year scholarships for the international students to undertake postgraduate study in Victoria. One to two scholarships are made available each year. They cover the cost of international tuition fees and an award of $ 90,000 to each of the candidate over the duration of their postgraduation studies.
How to Apply
The Research degree applications may only be submitted once the candidate has obtained an invitation to apply from the Faculty that offers the degree in which they wish to enroll.
It may take up to four weeks to obtain an invitation. The candidate needs to initiate the process to obtain an invitation not less than four weeks prior to the date on which they expect to submit their application.
In order to obtain an invitation the candidate needs to,
- complete an expression of interest and/or
- find a supervisor who agrees to supervise the candidates’ research
