The state of Andhra Pradesh has an unique arts of itself. It is situated on the country’s South-Eastern coast. It is India’s fourth largest state by area and fifth largest by population. Andhra Pradesh has several Art colleges. There are many courses which are covered at an Art College like History, English, Home Science, Economics, Political Science etc. Here is a list of Top 10 Arts Colleges in Andhra Pradesh based on the polls conducted among students and alumni. 1. Osmania University College for Women-

It was established in the year 1924. The main objective of college is women empowerment. To equip women with latest technology like computers, state-of-the-art library, e-books and much more. To strive for excellence in the fields of teaching, research and employment.

2.  Loyola Academy Degree & P G College-

Loyola Academy (LA) is managed and administered by the Jesuits of Andhra Jesuit Province, belonging to the Society of Jesus, an international Catholic Religious Order. Loyola Academy, Degree and Post Graduate College as well as Loyola Academy Junior College were founded by Rev.Fr.T.Balaiah, S.J. in 1976 in Old Alwal, Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.

3. St. Ann’s Degree College for Women-

This college was established in year 1983 by Sisters Society St. Ann. The college has been accredited as an ‘A’ degree college. Also, it is regarded as college for Potential for Excellence by UGC. It has a 3000 student strength and around 100 well educated teachers to guide the students. Not only the college focuses on studies but also it gives importance to sports and extra-curricular activities.

4. Kasturba Gandhi Degree & P. G. College for Women-

It was established in 1973 by the Osmania Graduates Association under the patronage of the Exhibition Society. The English, Commerce and Science departments are equipped with excellent lab facilities. Apart from the regular teaching schedule, the college undertakes remedial classes for academically backward students of SC and ST categories under the sponsorship of UGC.

 

5. St. Francis College for Women-

Started in 1959, it is a Catholic minority Institution founded by the Sisters of Charity for the holistic education for empowerment of women. The college was accredited with 5 stars by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) in the year 1999 and reaccredited at the ‘A’ Level in the year 2006. The University Grants Commission declared the college as a ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ in the year 2004.

6. Nizam’s College-

Established in 1887 by the amalgamation of Hyderabad School and the Madarsa-i-Aliya, Nizam College is one of the oldest and most esteemed institutions of higher education in South India. The College is accredited by NAAC. Placement Centre organises on-campus recruitments involving industries and MNC’s like Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, Satyam, Nipuna, GE, etc. totaling to more than 25 to 50 reputed companies visit the college every year.

7. Badruka College of Commerce and Arts (BCCA)-

BCCA was established in 1950 at Darushifa to educate young boys and girls. In 1964, the College acquired a sprawling campus on Kachiguda Station Road. The campus atmosphere is student friendly and cosmopolitan in nature for the over-all development of the students.

8. A V College of Arts, Science and Commerce-     

It was founded in the year 1968 for meeting the growing needs of higher education in the region The college being centrally located with spacious campus, beautiful landscape, elaborate infrastructure, benevolent management, dedicated staff and students is a well-known centre for various curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

9. Stanley Degree College for Women-       

It is specifically build in the vision of women empowerment & provides state-of-art literature, internet and other lab facilities. The college provides education through highly qualified faculties and guest lectures from eminent faculties across nation.

10. Reddy Women’s College-      

Raja Bahadur Venkat Rama Reddy Women’s College, Narayanguda, Hyderabad was established in the year 1954 by the Hyderabad Mahila Vidya Sangham. The main objective of the institution is to promote quality education among women. In consonance with this objective, 60% of the seats at the undergraduate level are reserved for girl students hailing from rural areas The college is an autonomous and affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. It is centrally located in the city on a campus comprising a 3.5 acre plot with five buildings.
