First, let’s understand what WB JEE is. WB JEE or West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is a state-government controlled examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board. This entrance test is taken after 12th grade for admission to undergraduate graduation courses. The primary purpose of this examination is securing admission to various private and government medical and engineering institutions across West Bengal.

An important thing to remember before filling the application form is the eligibility criteria. Candidates appearing for WB JEE must have studied Pure Science stream at the plus two level with specific subjects – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for engineering courses, or Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for medical courses. Without these mandatory subjects, candidates cannot apply for the examination, regardless of their academic performance in other areas.

WB JEE actually conducts two separate tests – one for medical courses (also called WBJEE Medical) and another for engineering courses (also called WBJEE). The key difference between these two tests is their subject composition. The medical test includes Physics, Chemistry, and Biology papers, while the engineering test includes Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics papers. Students must choose which test to appear for based on their career goals and the subjects they studied in their plus two level. This structure allows students to focus specifically on subjects relevant to their chosen field, whether they aspire to pursue medical or engineering careers in West Bengal’s institutions.

According to statistics every year approximately 3 lakh people take the examination and it is increasing. What is IIT JEE Exam | Pattern | And Who is Eligible
