NIFT Question Paper Previous year NIFT exam constitutes of two part

CAT: Creative Ability Test

Creative ability test of NIFT 2017 was easy and 3 questions were asked to check creativity , color combination and design scene of students.

2. Question number 2 was based on designing of a T-Shirt with theme from one of the following to be tested from students.

  1. Music: Soul of Life
  2. Save: Wild life
  3. Dignity of aged

Intention of NIFT creative ability test 2017 question paper was to check design scene and color mix creativity with possible innovations from students.

GAT: General Ability Test

While before 2017 questions of GAT use to be 120 in 2 hours this year it was reduced to 100 questions in 2 hours. Although level of GAT questions were upgraded and was different from previous year NIFT GAT papers.

GAT was Divided in 5 Sections for B.Des

Sections of GAT of B.DEs Questions

  1. Business Domain : with 15 questions
  2. Reasoning : 20 questions
  3. English : 30 questions
  4. Quantitative aptitude: 20 questions
  5. Passages and comprehension : 15 questions

NIFT exams focuses on knowledge of English and communication with Mathematical ability. Fashion industry moving globally , an aspirant need to have proper exposure of communication and thus GAT paper of NIFT focuses on knowledge of English as whole.

Sections of GAT of M.DEs Questions

M.Des has 120 questions in GAT as compared to 100 questions in B.Des. 20 more questions are added in above 5 sections.

M.Des questions in maths are comparatively easy but english is lengthy in nature and lots of practice is required.

Maths tests students calculation speed and ability to sync with mathematical calculations during designing process.

Sections of GAT of Management and Technology questions

Management and technology streams questions of GAT of NIFT has 150 questions which is to be completed in 3 hours.

  5. Reasoning
  6. Comprehension
