Should we have Age Limit or Retirement for Politicians?
According to my point of view there should be an age limit. In our country every field have some retirement age, but in politics no such age limit is there. Generally it has been seen that at the age of 55-60 a person becomes lazy and many health problems engulfs.At that span of time he loses his capability to think more effectively. As we know politicians are very crucial and important part of our country. So politicians should have retirement age.
Old is gold,is this true for politics so far?
I feel it is good to give youth more opportunities because they are full of ideas and are energetic to their tasks. Youth are full of passion and they have capability to work with zeal and confidence. They are fresh minded and can take right decision. The decision taken by young person is dynamic. If there willbe age limit then young generation will get chance to prove themselves. Now a day’s more than 90 % of Indian politicians are above 60. Just because there is no age limit, a politician continues to do his job until he is alive. I know they have experience but after a certain age limit they are not able to work so effectively which automatically lowers the development of our country. Due to lack of job opportunities many youngsters are going to foreign countries for higher education or in seek of good job. Youth should be given opportunity in politics. If there will be age limit of 60 years for politicians and they won’t be allowed to work beyond this age many of the young people will get chance to work and do some good steps to improve our nation . So that there may be chance of change in corrupted politics and make our country corruption free and developed. Politicians would need to retire notonly because they are physically unable to cope with the rigors of this demanding career, but because they feel that they have done a bit for the country. So I suggest that the age limit should be restricted up to age of 60.

As far as i am concern each and everyone has limited working efficiency.the government has decided age limit of retirement at 60 because after that time people are not to able to do work as efficiently as before. One thing that i would like to let you all know that is the prime minister of India is working at above 80 and how could he manage himself to conduct all the essential operations of the country.Most of the politicians are sleeping during the session of the parliament while rest of them are blaming on each other for the losses and scams. I firmly believe that age limitations should also be apply on these politicians who are letting our country in backward directions apart from competiting with the United States. These politicians are provided with the laptops and tablets but they dont even know how to operate that technical equipments whereas well educated youngsters are unemployed who have capabililities to lead our country.
yes I think we should have age limit for politicians because if we have age limit for gov. employees who create the idea of policies for the gov. then why should not we have retirement for the politicians.
according to me we should have education criteria too for the politicians if they are uneducated then how would they lead the educated people.
In India youth called “Icon of India” and they are also called power of the nation, so i think if educated youth join our country’s politics then they definitely can give us good and new thoughts for grooming india and this is also a rise of new politics in India and perhaps then movement like Anna Hazare’s movement wont be required.
For retired politicians there should be a Advisory committee in india in which we can get the benefit of their experience.
i am not with any kind of age limit for our politicians because if we want a retirement age for them it means we want youngster in this field and we all know that youngster have the power off will but not any kind of experience and for the politics the experience is more important than power.
But for some sector of politics like business,sports and some other field we can make a solution with to have some youth mandatory. Thank you
According to me there should be age limit for retirement of politician because i personally think due to no age limit their would be less opportunities for young generation & due to this they cannot have even a chance to do something good for welfare of our country.
They cannot proof themselves to be an asset for our country to do some variations in our constitution , to be very frank i think old aged politicians cannot think as young aspiring mind can think, so their should be age limit for politicians.
And i think if our youth can perform in rest of the fields like engg. ,medical, and other field then why youngster cannot choose politics as a career option. They also can make politics as a good career choice.
Hello everyone…i think there should be no age limit for the politicians..because i strongly believe that there is no age limit for doing work….and a age factor doesn’t make any effect while working if a politician who is 60yrs old, and he is physicaly fit…it doesn’t mean that he can’t work in this age…always think that they have been gain alot of experiance’s throughout their carrier and they knows very well what is right or wrong… so their experience’s will always provide them for taking the right decision…apart from that there must be provision of retirement…after a certain age, if a politician doesn’t feels physically good or feels that he is unable to give good services to his country..or his health is supporting him than he/she must take the retirement..beacause it’s a qusetion of future of our country….so it must taken seriously…..
As I see above comments…many of guys are saying that young generation should get the chance to prove themselves in politics…i would like to tell them that…there is not such provison that young guys can’t get entry in politics…if they want to contribute in the development of our country through politics…then they are always free to enter in the politics and can prove themselves…!
I do not believe in specific retirement age for our politician.the decision should be voluntary one .The guideline regarding retirement can be set down by each politician party.
Politician would need to retire not only because physically dis unable to cope with the rigours for this
demanding carrier , but because they feel that they have done their bit for the country.
Corruption, criminialisation and the perception average indian politician is a gray ,unresponsive,time less entity — an entity that will be not let go off its position of power.
Lets be honest an energetic active,inspirational,75 year old politician is more the expection then the rule

politicians must have the age limits because when they are in age 50 and 60 they are very lazy.they are not interested in their politics due thair lazyness and old age.so i am interested on youngpeople because they are good on labour and hard work.they have the ability to do every work in our country sucessfully.so in my language young generation is most important for politics.

in my point view, there should be no age limit for politics… there is no age limits for social work… Bcz, a good leader is not known by his/her age, he/she is well known by his/her leadership quality, managerial skills, risk taking quality, problem solving capacity, etc. So, A person whether he/she is a young guy or old man, having the above quality is be a good politician…

Your point is also right sagar but if so then young people will never get chance to join politics and work for our country.The same trend will be continued for ever.so their must be something so that the young people who are moving to other nation for the seek of job and to pursue higher degree can join politics. our country needs more and more talent so that the country will rise !!!!!!
HERE IS THE QUESTION OF OUR COUNTRY & I THINK ONLY EXPERIENCED PERSON CAN THINK BETTER BECOZ THEIR VIEWS DEPEND ON THE PRESENT AS WELL FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY.IT’S NOT JUST DECIDING ABOUT THE SMALL THING ,HERE THE EACH AND EVERY DECISION DECIDE THE SUVIVAL OF OUR CITIZEN . SO A PERSON ,WHO IS ABLE TO UNDER EVERY ASPECT CAN ONLY GET A CHANCE TO BE A POLITICIAN & I THINK A LONG TIME EXPERIENCED PERSON CAN BE A BETTER OPTION.

politics is something different from other environment. As we have a decision taking member in our family who is elder n quite experienced likewise that politics too requires an experience to greater extent. The young generation of today like us lacks patience and tolerance power. An important skill what is called as power to see d future after a decision is taken is required because its for our nation , for our uncountable people . so age limit is required but at the same time young genertaion should only participate if they have experience .
of course their should be the age limit,,,,because if this happen than only the young member are able to take responsibility of the country in their hands////
According to me the age limit must be there, A politician cant work till his/her death. Politician must have the age limit above 40 and below 65.Science had proved that after some age limit the human thinking gets low he/she cant have the same memory power as had earlier and also proved that the people have a best working and sharp mind in its age limit and it also does not depend on the work experience. Suppose a man/women have a 40 year work experience in his/her field then also after 40 year he/she cant able to give the same performance as he/she given in his/her woking career.Same condition is applied to the politician.
why you are limiting age of politicians from 40 to 65 ?? Don’t you think young people like us who are willing to join and do political work should join & do something for our mother land ???
I truly agree with the fact it is necessary to have age of retirement …..But if a person is dedicated towards the country and aims towards the Benefit of COUNTRY then it is not necessary to have it….

yes, ofcourse…age limit should be there bacause now a dayz youngsters are full of creativity,talent ,new ideas,nd full of energy ,zeal so dey hav got the will to bring d sudden changes if required for the nation compared to those who hav grew old…..

In my point of view it is a social work and there is no age of doing the work for society. If someone is really dedicated to his responsibility towards society then, I wish they should never retire. But in present scenario Figure is totally changed. EXCEPT FEW EVERYONE must retire from Indian politics. Because they are serving their own society called FAMILY.
Yeah exactly you are right that there is no age for social work & to serve your nation but if you will see the current scenario of the political system it is corrupt in that extent that even if we will try to make our country corruption free it will be hard to achieve… so my view is that there should be something that youngsters like us will get some chance to get into politics and with their curiosity and dynamic thoughts they can put INDIA forward !!!!

Favor of setting a retirement age for a politician.
I’d like to start with an Example, there is a huge difference in our ideology and that of our grandparents. In some cases they are right but in most cases they do not understand the current scenario of this modern day society. Same applies when handling the today’s political system.
They would go for the conventional ways for solving any issue, but lack the risk taking abilities that the current generation have.
Of course, like everything needs to be refreshed from time to time, and add new ideas to it, so does our political system. So, the leaders who have crossed a certain age limit should now make way for the new generation lads to get in..
With the experience of the elder ones and the refreshing and scenario-adaptive ideas of the young generation, our country will rise to glory….
