Are we Really Good Indian Citizen?
A nagging question has always bothered me why aren’t we Indians better citizens? I’ve often felt disheartened and embarrassed to admit that we fall short of being the responsible citizens we should be To support my views I would like to begin with the politics first. We say we live in a democratic country which means leaders are to be chosen by public votes. And when leaders are chosen by a majority and then any undesirable thing happens we directly and very casually blame them.
We expect the government to do everything for us while our contribution is totally nil. We often blame leaders after they have been chosen because we tend to overlook our own role in selecting them. Instead of taking responsibility for our choices, we shift the blame to the leaders themselves. Instead of taking action to create positive change, we often retreat to our comfort zones with our families and wait for someone else to come along and fix the problems. We gaze out at distant lands, expecting a magical solution to arrive, courtesy of a messianic figure waving a wand.
We always look up the pressure around us, without thinking about the solution. We blame the government for unemployment, hikes in prices, non-management wastes, illiteracy, and so many other things. We expect the government to be aware of our problem and expect them to find a solution. My only question to all of you is “Are we really a good Indian Citizen ? “.

Small Action for A Better Nation
Similarly, if we look towards our duty to keep our surroundings clean. We throw away waste materials haphazardly and expect the government to clean up the garbage. There are so many other small things by which we can help our system to be good and reach to satisfactory level. For example, by helping the needy, taking care of the poor people, by paying taxes at the right time we can do our bit. Just like business requires innovation and the ability to respond to change, so do communities and nations. So we must make it grow and work efficiently.
We must question and debate how to improve society and change inefficient or unjust systems. Parents, educators, and leaders can instill patriotism and national commitment in kids and youth. Let’s encourage the youth to take responsibility, lead, and tackle tomorrow’s challenges. Please feel free to write your views/opinions in the comment section.

i want to say the indian culture followed by democratic country and goodcitizen. everything want to change good things but in my opinion should change oneself because their is change by people.
y aah sure we are good citizen of india .indie is country of farmer and they are back bone of country
there are many good citizen in India like mahatma ghandhi,pandit jawahaerlal nehru,ranilaxmi bai.they are fight with britisher ,in depended the india.
.i dont think so. to be a good citizen 1st we really need to change our mentality . Today we r filled with jealousy,ego,self respect and we boast for serving our nation. we really need to change our vision. just by liking some pictures of soldiers on social networking sites and respecting our leaders .
we should become good citizen and work for our nation.and follow rule our leader.
Now days every people thik that we are good but they have some some problem…….
No absolutely not we are not the fair citizens of india, we are the one who have created the problem of corruption, rapes , child abuse, dowry alls ill pits in the culture are all created by the citizens only no body else is responsible for it so first we should improve ourself than only we can think of the developed india.
So i can say that i m to not the right person of india and i would like to appeal everyone be fair in any activity they participate, i am trying my best to improve myself you also please try.
Being an Indian, I am also saying that we are not good citizen. I am not takling about all citizens but mostly.Because we have a habbit that we can observe very quickly that what is going wrong but we never Stand to improve that. We can gossip alot abou law and order, goverment..etc but we never take any initiative to change that.. our thinking is that “What I alone can do”?? Being an Initiative is very far away, we also pull legs of those who start to do something good..
I am also shame my self and i have no hesitation in this. But now i will try to be a good Indian citizen by giving vote and many other things.
No, we are not good Indian citizen because
whenever any accident occurs on the road we just see that and not help others.
whenever their is rape attempt by any one we just start movement on the next but dont do anything on the that day at that time.
In today’s scenario the incidents that are happening in our India , is not enough to say to ourselves that we are a good and proud citizen of India. We slowly forgetting the proud and ancient culture and tradition of our country. We are the people who does not start the war against any other country in the time of last 2000 years. We are the people who eat in the plates of gold and silver when rest of the world was wandering here and there. We are the people where all the ancient civilization and religions were found. And what we are doing and what the incidents are happening in other country doesn’t make us proud. But the Scenario is not at all so , as still we are having many examples such as APJ Abdul Kalam , Anna Hazare , who are trying to get our head held high infront of the whole world.

we think that we are good but actually we never about our nation as well as other people. The important thing is that who gave us right to decide whether we are good or bad? Its our own thought that we can decide about ourselves.

One more example for this fact can be deduced from a recent incident that happened in Delhi rape case.All over the night the girl was shivering in cold lying naked on the road and there was not even a single resposible person to provide the victim the desired help.
yes we are tha really really a good Citizen. we can can see in every areas that we are good citizen in comparizen of other Country…I am good in many ways and also bed for many ways. not all are good. because Many persons are like to invest in temples but only few persons like to invest money for poor person.
Actually the problem with us is that we never think about our nation about others we always think what is good for us and selfishness creates the problem. We think that system is bad but we forget that this system is made by ourselves. once we start to think about others then this will also good for ourselves.and if we want corruption free nation then its our responsibility to chose right leader for country.
We are not good in all as nobody is perfect and everyone has its own good qualities and bad habits in one thing or the other. we rae not good citizen. because now we are only looking at our own profit.we are getting selfish day by day. A old saying says “Mera Bharat Mahaan” but then it was corrected by adding “JAHA 100 ME SE 99 BAIMAAN PHIR BHI MERA BHARAT MAHAN”.
it is not enough to be a good Indian citizen but we also have to improve our self.in Indian constitution as far as my concerned we should we a good person if we think over it then we can say that we are the good Indian citizen.once if we improve our self then we can say that we are proud to be an Indian it is not necessary to have the Indian should prevent the crime and corruption itself if the Indian will change their attitude due to any crime happen in India.
As we know its obvious that we are good citizen.,,,but there is some problem that is somebody says something then other person should think about that,,should see the benifts and drawbacks of that…as we know unity is strenghth,,the person should have the qality to initiate the things …the leadership quality at all.:)
as far as i think , we donot have all the qualities of a good indian citizen since we all donot react when someone is assauted by anyone. we just stand and see all the dramas. we dont help the people who are being treated in a bad manner.
so as i field , we all the indians must change our mentality of escaping from our duties.we just want not to be getted trapped in any type of case and due to this reason only we escape without reacting to such situation.
the main qualities of a good indian citizen is to be honest to our duties towards nation,, never tried to cheat anyone in any point of time. if we were good indian cityzen then we must react when daminis were lying on the road and no body helps the cops while they were taking her.
Well in my opinion, I am no one to comment on anyone . It varies from person to person. Some might be good and responsible while others may not. But yes in some areas its quite disappointing to say being an Indian that we are not really as good citizen as we should be. If we look at other countries like US, UK etc, the people there are much more responsible and more wise to understand their fundamental duties.
We always have a big mouth to blame others but never show the courage to take that responsibility in our hands. Inspite of blaming others, we should take over the responsibility in our hands and initiate a small step towards the cause. We say that India is United and has the largest religion diversity all over the world, but when it comes to local religious issues between Hindus and Muslims we are the first one to put over nose and make a chaos.
Apart from this their are several issues like sexual discrimination, garbage throwing, Spitting here and there, Pollution etc. which lacks us in the race with other countries.
To become a good citizen firstly we must first do our basic activities like helping other citizens, needy peoples, to fulfill the requirements of new activities. Hence adopting some good moves like these can make us a responsible and patriotic citizen.
In the present time there is a big question arises among all of us that is “are we really a good citizen??”
so the answer is that no we are not. Because all times to blame the other people like politician, rapist, murder and all is not good. firstly you have to look at your own mentality and activity. If a group of boys harrasing a girl then are you do something for that?? no one wants to do anything for that because every think that it is not my matter and why should i take risk.
So i just want to request to all of you please try to change ur thinking and do something for our nation.
To become a good citizen, ones have various qualities. few are –
1) He is awair of his rights and duties.
2) He is responsible towards himself and also to the society.
3) He is capable to do good thing for the development of our conutry.
4) various types of bills(electricity, phone etc) and Taxes should be given at proper time.
If these types of activities are done by the citizen, then he is good citizen.
and i am sure 90% of people in our country are not a good citizen, even i am not.
From my point of view every citizens must help the other citizens and remove all the difficulties in the life.They must not fight with each other and promote them by providing all the things.
I feel that India does not need just a good leader but also responsible citizens. Our ‘leader’ is only going to be a representative of the masses. He is one among us. So, we as educated individuals must try to elect people who would work for the nation rather than for themselves and at the same time we must take sincere efforts to be an example for others around us. Education must spread all over the country and the sooner that happens the better for us.
WHAT IS THE THING WHICH DECIDE THAT I AM A GOOD INDIAN OR NOT. I THINK OUR BEHAVIOR AGAINST THE OTHER PERSON AND THE OUR RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SOCIETY AND AT WHAT LEVEL WE DID THE OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR SOCIAL AND COUNTRY IS MAKE US A GOOD INDIAN.
SO OUR MOTIVE SHOULD NOT ONLY BE TO OUR DEVELOPMENT BUT WITH US WE SHOULD THINK ABOUT THE ALSO OUR COUNTRY AND SOCIAL ATMOSPHERE SO THAT WITH US OUR COUNTRY COULD DEVELOP AND THIS THINKS MAKE US THE A GOOD INDIAN.
Today most of the people are filled with jealousy,anger,ego etc.Many of the citizens take revenge from the other people by various illegal means.
Everyone of us must have faith for other citizens and must provide help to them as much as possible.Thus I feel that every citizen can be good at higher level but there is the need of humanity in everyone.
Yes we are not good indian citizen because we all know that the accident of delhi case this is the big example that the indian are not gud citizen . There are also very narrowo minded are lived . when that girl was on thr road not a single person did help at that time of that girl around 1 to 2 hour . And the all knows the truth of that case but till now government not take a strong decision we dont know . and all of the case we are also responsible we should be keep a positive thinking and also give a good ethics to our child, brother so that i agreed the indian are also reponsible . And when we are talking about governmenment we are reponsible for them we are voting them .that day when each person of indaia understand there rights definattely trhe face of india will change.
we are very good citizen compare to our politicians want….

we want good politicians & politicians want good public….
& both never are bad, too bad…
