In the earlier days in India there were few banks which were serving for the country and for the citizens of India. In those days there was no recruitment from IBPS. Different banks used to give the advertisements on the newspapers for the vacancies. But this process lasted for many months or may be a year. So the selection procedure is hampered by this extensive duration. This usually affected the productivity of the banks drastically. So the importance of the role of IBPS was very much important at that time. IBPS made the recruitment process much easier for most of the banks.

Eligibility Criteria for IBPS SO Exam:-

The IBPS agency conducts this examination once a year for the post of Specialist Officer.

• Any people who are holding the degrees of BTECH, BE M.SC or MCA can sit for this examination.
• Moreover he/she must be an Indian citizen of above 21 years of age.

Once the exam is over the score card is provided to the candidates who have qualified for the next round for interview. Presently there are total 19 bank shares who are affiliated with the IBPS system. After giving the interview these students can apply in different banks by showing their score cards. A score card is valid for only one year. If a candidate doesn’t get any job in any bank then he /she have to sit for the IBPS SO exam again in the next year.

For better guidance candidates can also join certain institutes for coaching purposes for IBPS  specialist officer. There are numerous advantages of taking coaching from the institutions. Such as:-

• Time to time tests are conducted. Mock tests help the students to grow the confidence and they also get to know about the pattern of the exam
• Time factor is very crucial in this exam. Specific classes are conducted by the institutes to improve the efficiency off the students.
• Proper coaching of the teachers improves the knowledge and concept of the subjects

Private banks focus on IBPS:-

Moreover there are some private banks also whose recruitment process is also based on the score of IBPS exam. Most of them prefer IBPS passed employee as this process saves their time for the recruitment process. They don’t have to conduct any exam for recruiting the employees. There are two banks named as State Bank of India and Industrial Development bank of India which conducts their own and separate examination and the process for interview.
